Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bangalore has a course in Cloud Computing for 3rd year students in their Computer Science and Engineering and Information Science and Engineering streams.

Prof. Shylaja who handles this course invited me to speak on IBM BlueMix in the second week of November 2015, so that the students can get a head-start before they can use the offering themselves for their classroom learning and academic projects. The students who attended the seminar showed great excitement as they could for the first time experience an enterprise cloud offering about which they had learnt in theory in their course.

In the session, we discussed IBM BlueMix architecture, it's varied services, most importantly the ability to leverage boiler plates to reduce the application development time. In my demo I showcased Android application development using IBM BlueMix Mobile Cloud service, students showed lot of  interest particularly in this area, going by the number of questions I got here even during the session. A lot of them discussed ideas that they could implement as their final year projects next semester using the IBM BlueMix services and I am excited to look forward to working with them on their projects using IBM BlueMix.
